So we got a call from a client who uses this older Vodavi Starplus STS FP2 system. We didn't install it, and neither they nor us has anything but a station programming manual. Nevertheless, we got it sorted out just fine programming from a set and they're up and running again.
But I'm wondering what caused this to happen. There was likely a brief power interruption to the KSU, but would that lose their programming? Is there some kind of backup battery inside the unit? We'll put a UPS on the unit tomorrow, but I'm wondering if there's a battery inside the unit. Other KSU's we've dealt with seem to handle brief power outages without trouble.
