The chances of me using Verizon for anything other than POTS are

Even if they don't, you should if they offer Verizon anything that Charter doesn't already have.
The franchise we have with T-W says that if we sign any franchise agreements with anyone else, they have the option of using the new agreement, which I gather is typical.
