Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc. said on Thursday it has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Tribune Co.'s Zap2It, a Web site that includes TV programing guides.

The lawsuit, filed in Delaware, charges that the technology Zap2It

TV Guide is seeking damages and an injunction against Zap2It. It said that past efforts to reach an agreement with Tribune over the patent have been unsuccessful.

Tribune declined to comment on the lawsuit.

Over the past two years Gemstar has settled a number separate patent disputes, including one with set-top box maker Scientific-Atlanta, relating to Interactive Program Guides.
