AT&T customers in parts of Central Texas found themselves without cellular, cable TV and Internet service Friday afternoon after a fiber-optic line was cut.
On social media, some customers in Hays, Travis and Williamson counties were reporting outages and the downdetector.com website was showing a dramatic spike in complaints that started around 3 p.m.
A spokeswoman for the Dallas-based telecommunications giant told the American-Statesman the company was aware of the outage and working to restore service.
