Our wonderful Premier has told us this is going to be "revenue neutral" to the Government and that *we'll* all break even... The whole thing is
*bullshit* and doesn't take into consideration the commercial vehicles on the road. Adding the carbon tax to the $1.519/litre I saw posted at one gas station this morning is simply ridiculous. I should move to Florida.
RHC: You bet it's bullshit !! Back in 1995, the Liberal government added a 1.5 cent surcharge on gas prices to bring down the horrendous budget deficit we had at the time. They promised it was temporary and would be rescinded when no longer needed. Today, 13 years later, we're still being gouged with that surcharge. So much for the "word" of any Canadian government.
The Liberals must think that we are all complete idiots, to have us believe that they would allocate this money to "green" ventures to the exclusion of all else. Our government has a long history of taking money for one purpose and spending it for anything other than it's intended purpose, depending upon the political winds of the day. That's one reason why our infrastructure of roads and bridges is in such a sorry mess !!
Dion should stay behind a desk in some ivory tower in a university where he belongs, and leave the leadership of his party to someone with some common sense......
Oops...sorry....common sense and Liberals in the same breath....mutually exclusive.....
Not at all, Bob. We liberals think you're a genius.
You think you've got problems? We've got a neocon with the mental acuity of a turnip, the morals of Adolf Eichmann and the competence of Stan and Ollie at the helm. It was the "conservatives" that elected this imbecile and it's the neo-conservatives who still endorse him, despite his radical (exact opposite of conservative) abuses of power. Disregarding his unconstitutional power grab which has turned the Executive into a near-autocracy, the same neocons worship the ground he walks on, even if he sold it to the Chinese. I'm sure your "fearless leader" is as useless as you say but he can't hold a burnt candle to our Idiot in Chief.
It's not about the political party, Bob. What really matters is the
