I installed Sygate a few days ago to use in addition to ZoneAlarm. It worked fine until today, when it failed to launch at startup. It also is failing to launch from the Start menu.
What gives? (Win2k Pro, 1 gig PIII, 512 meg ram Dell machine using ZoneAlarm personal.)
You can't run two software firewalls. It's one or the other.
You want something to supplement the PFW you can use IPsec that comes on the Win 2K O/S.
As far as Sygate not starting, it sounds like malware may have compromised the machine and is preventing it from starting.
You can use Process Explorer and look at running processes and look inside a running process to see what's using it. Maybe, you'll spot something.
