I need to implemention Ethernet Multiplexer in FPGA. I need to draft the requirement specifications also. Can any body guide me on what Ethernet Multiplexers are actually used for ....?
Any core area of application for Ethernet Multiplexers (FPGA Based). Please suggest me some good documents, data sheets, URLs, books what ever you can.

Hi Kedar, IMHO I think that every Ethernet switch acts as a multiplexer. If so then the best reference is IEEE 802.1D eventhough I would also suggest the Rich Seifert's great book : "The Switch Book".
If you intend a sort of VLAN multiplexer this is again a switch with a trunk interface. In that case the reference is IEEE 802.1Q.
