is it correct to give 2 ip addresses on the same VLAN ID interface no matter they are on different switches ? i.e
2950 : int vlan A ip address x.x.x.x m.m.m.m 3750 : int vlan A ip address y.y.y.y m.m.m.m- posted

In general, each vlan should be a separate subnet and all the addresses within a vlan should be in the same subnet.
oops sorry that this is not seen by the example they are in the same subnet, x.x.x.5/24 and x.x.x.10/24 just what i was worring is that they are the same vlan-interface (A). i.e does vlan-interface is inter-switch proprietes or per-switch.
