Training question

Sep 16, 2008 1 Replies

This is a cross post from alt.certification.cisco where it remains unanswered for five or so days. I'm hoping someone here can offer advice.

I have no background with Cisco equipment or installing wireless devices or firewalls. I have recently been made responsible for the implementation of a Cisco Air Lap access point and a Cisco ASA 5505. Can anyone tell me an online class(es) or training materials that focus on the basics of these or like devices. I am trying to find something that will teach me the steps of set-up and management without overwhelming myself with extras, for right now.

Without experience on Cisco/wireless/firewall? I think chances are few.

ASA sometimes is hard to configure for experienced users :(

My advice? Take at least a CCNA training to get more familiar to Cisco. That's a basis you can build on.

Regards,

Andre
