Smartnet instructions for registering for CCO access

Finally recieved the email from Cisco for our Smartnet service contract. This is copied directly from the email.

1) From your web browswer, go to
formatting link
Click on REGISTER located at the top of of webpage. 3) For Step one, choose option 1a "Cisco Service Contract Owner" and click "Next." 4) Enter your new service contract number and click on "Next" 5) Enter your company name, personal information and click on "Next." 6) You will be asked to select a user name and password. Follow remaining instructions as prompted.

No where do I find "option 1a". I did find a check box with something similar. Also, nowhere do I see a "next" button to click. Is anyone familar with registering for the service contract? Nothing is included in the instructions about using an existing "Guess" login and upgrading it to registered. After all the trouble I've been trough just trying to figure out what Smartnet to buy, I can't believe this process is still being a pain in the ass.

Google returned nothing for "cisco cco "option 1a""

Thanks for any advice or pointers.

i think they want you to check the box for service contract owner

Register for Additional Access Registration to these areas require additional keys.

Service Contract Owner (May also have a contract to resell Cisco products) Requires additional step: After your Cisco.com registration is complete, you will be requested to provide your contract numbers. Each contract-association request will be reviewed.

That's a radio box, and you "Submit" instead of "Next"

You don't: the vendor registered the contract. But then you have to get the contract associated with your CCO login. That would normally happen by the vendor registering a site number for you [I think], then you would log in to the SCC

and place a request to have the contract associated with your site (though even that step might happen automatically with the -first- contract for the site.)

For this all to work smoothly, you would need to have supplied the same address information to the vendor as when you registered the CCO login.
