settings for vo-ip traffic

hello...

I've got two sites connected via 1mb serial line with cisco1600 with

12.06T ios on both ends. On empty line I got 10ms latency. I use various programs for vo-ip like skype, ms communicator, pjsua Now there is fair queuing defined on interfaces so vo-ip traffic has quality problem.

what's the recommend configuration to achieve best sound quality ?

First I try priority queuing on both interfaces. quality was fine, but still have some gaps in conversations. I read somenthing about LowLatencyQueing but I can't any usable sample config.

Is there recommended reading ?

thank you

Have a look at a CCNP ONT book, you will find lots of interesting text on this topic including queing with CBWFQ/LLQ and preventing taildropping/global synchronization with WRED, be prepared to configure all the routers/switches for quality of service in the path between the different phones so every router will queue the most delay-sensitive priority packets before the other packets.
