PIX: How are packets travelling through it?

Jul 30, 2005 1 Replies

Hi,

is there any "plan" (flow diagram or something) how packets are travelling through the PIX (7.x) and how certain decisions (NAT, Policy etc.) are made? This would be very interesting, especially in combination with VPN tunnels...

Regards, Markus

Your question is quite loaded. You should get yourself of the new 'Cisco ASA and PIX Firewall Handbook'. There are many diagrams about how xlates, conns, and ACLs are used in verifying traffic.
