mkdir not available.

Why my stupid IOS doesn't recognize mkdir? How can I create a directory in the flash: device?

Version 12.3(8)YA1

The Cisco Command Lookup Tool reports 2 commands with two references

CF-358 it says the command is available from 11.3AA FR-206 it says the command is available from 11.3AA

So what's the problem?

The mkdir command is only valid on Class C Flash file systems.

Usually found on high-end routers and switches.
