ISDN Issue Cisco 2500 <----> Vanguard

Hi everybody,

i have 2 isdn routers: 1 cisco 2500 e 1 unspecified Motorola/Vanguard.

I don't know Motorola configuration but its administrator says that chap username must be "centro" on both side. When i try to connect i see following debug output :

centro#ping 130.1.1.86

Type escape sequence to abort. Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 130.1.1.86, timeout is 2 seconds:

%ISDN-6-LAYER2UP: Layer 2 for Interface BR0, TEI 69 changed to up %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface BRI0:2, changed state to up. BR0:2 PPP: Treating connection as a callout BR0:2 PPP: Phase is AUTHENTICATING, by the peer BR0:2 CHAP: I CHALLENGE id 0 len 75 from "centro" BR0:2 CHAP: Ignoring Challenge with local name.. BR0:2 CHAP: I CHALLENGE id 1 len 75 from "centro" BR0:2 CHAP: Ignoring Challenge with local name. %ISDN-6-CONNECT: Interface BRI0:2 is now connected to 0761744088

0800.3ed4.1d8c.

Success rate is 0 percent (0/5) centro# BR0:2 CHAP: I CHALLENGE id 2 len 75 from "centro" BR0:2 CHAP: Ignoring Challenge with local name %ISDN-6-DISCONNECT: Interface BRI0:2 disconnected from 0761744088

0800.3ed4.1d8 c, call lasted 15 seconds %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface BRI0:2, changed state to down %ISDN-6-LAYER2DOWN: Layer 2 for Interface BR0, TEI 69 changed to down

I think that Cisco router does not accept a challenge from a router with the same name and hence i must change my chap username to connect with success.

Can someone help me ?

Best Regards

Franco
