2620XM Failover ??

I am in the process of setting up a 2620XM which has two WICS istalled; serial and ethernet. The serial is connected to the T1 from Sprint and the other is connected to a SatLink (DirecWay DW6000 series) via ethernet.

What we are aiming to do is if the SerialInterface goes down, then we want the Satlink to take over.

There are no upstream or downstream routers. The network at the site (remote site) basically goes from the interal 2950 switch to a SonicWall to the 2620. Nothing else.

I thought OSPF would work but last night it failed to switch over.

Need to know if OSPF would work with a single router and still do a rollover or can it be done with static routing using metrics?

Any help would be appreciated.

You do not provide enough detail to determine what is required. For example, what link protocol is used on the T1? Is the 2620XM doing any NAT? The solution could be as trivial as adding a floating static route or it could be too convoluted to be practical on a

2620XM and require adding/replacing hardware.

As a side note, if there are no upstream or downstream routers to talk to, a dynamic routing protocol is not going to help.

Good luck and have fun!
