What is the difference between defining the encapsulation frame-relay at s0 and s0.0?

i think question is bit wrong. i assume you were trying to ask the difference between physical interfaces (s0 or s0/0 whatever) and the sub interfaces (s 0.1 etc) interms of defining encapsulation
a) subinterfaces (logical inetrfaces) start from 1 there is no such thing s0.0 b) encapsulation can only be defined for physical interfaces c) only definition for subinterfaces is DLCI number
