Is there anyone here who obtained the CCSP who didn't achieve their CCNP first? I am just curious as to whether it is necessary to obtain the CCNP first or is this just comparing apples to oranges?

I was CCNP/CCDP but it expired, so i'm currently redoing both, plus CCSP. I've got 2 exams left for NP, 1 for DP, 2 for SP. For anyone else, i would say do what you like to do, or what your company likes you to do ;) (i happen to do everything cisco for my company, all security products , from csa, to pix, to vpn 3000's..plus 6509's to 3500xl's...plus routing. hence i chose to pursue both certs.)
