Received an email from Cisco today about the new requirements for the CCSP. Each of the five exams will be replaced a new one. My question is I just passed 642-501. Can I continue to complete the certification? Do I need to take the new 642-502?

Yes you can, and no you don't.

The ones you have already taken will be fine for a while, I believe two years, however if you check on cert tracker (from cisco.com/go/certification) you'll see that even the previous two versions of these exams still count.

You only have until 19 Dec to register for any of the old exams you have studied for but not taken. If you haven't started studying, I'd recommend the new exams.
