Low-Voltage Lighting Recommendations, Please

Aug 29, 2005 3 Replies

I am looking for sources of inexpensive 12V lighting to be used to illuminate shelves. I believe that halogen bulbs are used, usually in small round cases. I would like to use two lights on a single transformer on each of four shelves.

Thanks, Eric

P.S. Sorry about posting to two groups - my lame newsreader doesn't understand cross-posting.

Have you considered using LED lighting? White LEDs will give good shelving and display lighting and consume very little electricity. Do a google search for 'LED lighting' and you will get lots of information.

Kale,

Thanks for the suggestion - I'll check it out.

Regards, Eric

Glad I could help. There's a lot of different LED fixtures out there now that are direct drop-in replacements for regular lighting, and there are also a lot of 12V systems as well.
