Can I mix UTP cables in both standard in a single network? Meaning connect one computer to a hub using a EIA/TIA 568A cable, and another computer using a EIA/TIA 568B cable?

Yes, you can put your cables in any order as long as they match on both sides. Remember each pair has a different number of twists per foot that the standards take advantage of to give you the maximum distance. Therefore you will most likely lose some of that distance with your custom pinout.

Such network will be a pain in the neck to manage because you'll never know if you have a straight-thru connection or a crossover. Besides, if you use those cables for anything other than Ethernet or an analog phone (a good cabling system can be used for multiple applications) it simply won't work if you have two different pinouts on the ends of a cable.
