Wireless Range Extender

Sep 19, 2007 0 Replies

I currently have the D-Link DWL-G710 Wireless Range Extender and it works great.

On the second floor of my house I only received about 20%-30% signal from the bedroom. With the D-Link I have 100% signal. The D-Link was placed in the bedroom.

My question is: Is my D-Link just repeating the signal that was received at 20%-30% or am I actually getting the same or close to the same signal I would get if was right next to the wireless router? So basically how does it work exactly?

In case anyone wants to know I'm using a Westell Versalink 327W. I know some people have had compatibility issues.

Thanks in advance.
