Want to make our property wireless

We own a small resort in Michigan's Upper Peninsula right on Lake Superior. We offer wireless to our customers but have a few spots that are not accessible because of either trees or buildings in the way blocking the signal that comes from our office. Attached is a link to a google area view of our property.

Because we live in an area that is pretty desolate, we have yet to find someone that could help us out. Even our internet provider is not saavy enough to get it right. I would really appreciate any help or recommendations to help us better serve our customers. Our property that houses our cabins is ap. 3.5 acres.

Thank You!

As your property isn't that large, you might want to consider a hybrid solution. Run ethernet to each cabin or every other cabin and place an AP for local wireless coverage. Another option might be to use a powerline extender to each cabin.

You have a few choices. These apply to pretty much any similar situation. Put an access point in each 'not spot' and backhaul it with:

- Ethernet: copper, if the run is short enough (this gives you the option of running power to it too) and fibre, if it isn't. Fibre is expensive and difficult, but may be the only option in some situations

- Point-to-point [or multipoint] wireless. Probably a happy medium.

- Some sort of meshing. This will give lower throughput, but your internet connection may be a limiting factor anyway. If you can find some bit of wireless kit that meshes automagically, then this will be the easiest option.
