This tablet OpenSSL is affected by the heartbleed bug and can't be updated. If I run VPNoneclick when accessing Internet, will that protect me from being hacked due to this bug?

Isn't the heartbleed problem on the server end, not the client?

Reading the article, it sounds unlikely that a client will have a heartbleed issue. However lots of people wget, and that supposedly could be hijacked.
