Dorm Room

I'm in a college dorm room and would like to make it wireless. What would you suggest I do. I would need to have an access point, but I don't know if I should buy b or g. Please help. Also my connection is

100+ mbps, I would like to keep it as fast as possible and low cost, because I am a college student.

First, make sure that your institution allows for the use of wireless APs inside the dorm rooms. If so, purchase either a standalone access point or a wireless router. If you buy a wireless G AP or wireless router, it is more than likely going to be backwards compatible. Most APs and Wireless G routers are defaulted to accept both B & G signals.I recommend the Linksys WRT54G or WRT54GC wireless router.
