Youbet.com Files for $50 Million Mixed Shelf

which maintains a Web site that allows members to watch and bet on horse races, filed on Monday to periodically sell up to $50 million in debt securities, common and preferred stock, and other securities.



The Woodland Hills, California-based company said in a registration statement filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that it will use the proceeds from the offering for general corporate purposes, including working capital, debt repayment and acquisition financing.



Under a shelf registration, a company may sell securities in one or more separate offerings, with the size, price and terms to be determined at the time of sale.
