Verizon launches 'digital voice' service for FiOS customers

Verizon Communications, Inc. today launched an "enhanced" digital phone service -- FiOS Digital Voice -- that runs on its all-fiber-optic network.
The new service has a number of features that are not available with Verizon's traditional "Freedom Essentials" voice service, like "Live Voice Mail Screening" that gives users the option to hear voice mail messages as they arrive and then decide whether or not to take the incoming call.
