two-inch cube could replace cell phone towers [telecom]

The Newark Star Ledger reported that Bell Labs in Murray Hill (Alcatel- Lucent) has developed a device, the "lightRadio cube", that directs cell phone signals more directly using far less power, while handling as much as 30 percent more capacity than current cell phone towers.
