COVID-19 brought record-setting investment to the healthcare industry in 2020, but this year is shaping up to be even better, reports McAlinden Research Partners. Demand for telehealth services skyrocketed during the pandemic, and funding is starting to follow suit.

Telehealth funding in the first quarter almost doubled from the same quarter a year ago. Big tech companies such as Verizon, Microsoft and Amazon are taking notice, striking deals to solidify themselves in the booming industry. Your heard it here first, and I predicted it.

"No shortage of players trying to claim their slice of the pie?" I guess not: I'd bet that every tech-support house in Mumbai is busy hiring every doctor within 200 Km to get them online for "telehealth," just as fast as they can. Welcome to the new world of "health care," where discount medical talent in foreign lands will take the place of those oh-so-prideful and oh-so-well-paid AMA members here in America.
