Most of the apps mentioned in this post have an obvious need for location data, e.g. GasBuddy. This story is really about vague disclosures that don't reveal all the ways this data will be used.

Of course, this will get /really/ interesting when someone publishes a list of companies that sell location-tracing apps to spouses and employers.
