Harold Rosen, Who Ushered in the Era of Communication Satellites, Dies at 90 [telecom]

Mr. Rosen's legacy as an electrical engineer and inventor is the roughly 600 geostationary satellites that handle TV signals, GPS tracking information and other data.

The GPS satellites aren't in geostationary orbit. I don't know why this annoys me, but it does, and I'm disappointed that the New York Times doesn't take more care with scientific info.
