A mass outage that resulted in more than 29,000 Pacific Gas and Electric Co. customers in Tuolumne County unexpectedly losing power for much of Saturday was caused by a fire to a transmission structure, a spokeswoman for the utility said Monday.
The fire resulted in a transmission line that serves the county going out of service about 11:15 a.m. Saturday and cut off power to 29,064 customers. Megan McFarland, PG&E spokeswoman, said what exactly started the fire was still under investigation as of Monday.
Is it just me, or does anyone else have the feeling that the world is falling apart?
