AT&T to cut 114 jobs in closure of call center in Detroit [telecom]

AT&T subsidiary Michigan Bell Telephone Co. is planning to layoff 114 employees at a Detroit call center effective March 28.

The Dallas-based conglomerate intends to cut employees at its Detroit Credit & Collections Call Center at 105 E. Bethune St. in the New Center area, according to anotice filed with the state Thursday. The call center in the building will close but other operations there will continue, company spokesman Marty Richter told/Crain's/via email.
