Programming Power632 for ContactID reporting

Hi all,

I have a DCS Power632 system (PC1555MX) and am having troubles understaning how to program it with ContactID reporting codes. Specifically I'm interested in sending reporting codes around when the system is armed and disarmed along with the number of which code was used to disarm it. I know you can send a reporting message on arming and disarming but am not sure about being able to tell it which code was used. I have the installation manual, but this section of it is very hard for me to understand (specifically I'm looking at section

5.9: Communicator - Reporting Formats). So far what I've done is key in "381 7" which I believe enables the ContactID reporting format. Beyond that I'm confused. Could someone please give me an example of how I could program my system to report in ContactID?

Thanks, Brandon

Place an A2 report code for each code you wish to get reports on.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the quick reply. In looking through the installer manual it seems like an A2 report code is an indication of "Fail to Report In" which is under the Medical Alarm section. I'm getting this from page

44 in "Appendix A: Reporting Codes" in a table called "Table2: Contact ID Zone Alarm/Restoral Event Codes (as per ADEMCO)". Is this what you intended or am I misinterpreting something?

Assuming I'm just misinterpreting something and I do need to place an A2 report code into each code I wish to get reports on could you give me an example of how I would do that? I see in that same Appendix that section [320] is the Zone Alarms reporting code that is sent when a zone goes into alarm. Am I just looking at punching in "*8 302 *12" where the *1 is the HEX A. Or am I missing something?

Thanks again for your help, Brandon

I meant use an A2 report code for each user code you wish opening & closings to report. All other ContactID codes are listed in the manual.

I guess I have 2 real questions at this point:

1) How do I assign an A2 report code to a user code? What specific keypresses must I make? This was really my original question.

2) Where does the manual say the A2 report code means opening & closings? In my manual I believe A2 means "Fail to report In". I'm sure I'm just looking at the wrong thing -- where in the manual is the right thing to be looking at? What page number?

Thanks, Brandon

Section 339 through 342 for the closing codes Section 344 through 347 for the opening codes On page 38 of the manual

Page 43 and 44 lists the contact ID codes look at the section that lists the automatic contact ID codes and use those.

If you look at the list you will see the first digit is fixed, your "fail to report in" has a fixed first digit of "1", open/closings have a fixed first digit of "4", low battery/restore has a fixed first digit of "4', they all use "A2" as the second and third digits.

turn on auto CID in 382 and you shouldn't have to do anything else

Do NOT do it that way, it ends up being a bitch....

Go to location 381 and turn light 7 off and it will all send correctly

Mark that would be true if it would be a sia system, but the OP is talking about CID

Brandon in the installation manual, not programming manual,in the appendix A (page 39 of version 2.2 manual) you can see what need to be program where..(there is a chart with the corresponding address and what need to be inputted)

its all in the 300 address range

there is 2 chart one for the zone information, like for a perimeter you need to program 31 in the alarm and restore(if you want restore reporting) reports code of the zone like for zone 1 it would be at address 320 for the alarm and 324 for the restore chart B2

A 3a at address 320 to327 will send a type of standard contact id but I have seen many times where it didn't work properly...

especially with non burglar zone like fire or gas or temperature

for opening and closing its at the address supplied by Jim,and a2 is the code for opening and closing ,you don't program nothing else the panel will know what to send for the user number..

hope it help

oups!!!

lets check in the manual........

Contact ID

Contact ID is a specialized format that will communicate information

using tones rather than pulses. This format allows more

information to be sent faster than other formats. For example,

in addition to reporting an alarm in zone one, the Contact ID

format will also report the type of alarm, such as an Entry/Exit

alarm.

If the Contact ID uses Programmed Reporting Codes

option is enabled, a two digit number from Appendix A must

be entered in programming sections [320] to [353] for each

event to be transmitted. The two digit number determines the

type of alarm. The panel will automatically generate all other

information, including the zone number.

If the Contact ID uses Automatic Reporting Codes option is

enabled, the panel will operate as follows:

  1. If an event's reporting code is programmed as [00], the

panel will not attempt to call the central station.

  1. If the reporting code for an event is programmed as anything

from [01] to [FF], the panel will automatically generate

the zone or access code number. See Appendix A for a

list of the codes which will be transmitted.

NOTE:If the Automatic Contact ID option is selected, the panel

will automatically generate all zone and access code numbers,

eliminating the need to program these items.

If the Contact ID uses Programmed Reporting Codes

option is enabled, the panel will operate as follows:

  1. If an event's reporting code is programmed as [00] or [FF],

the panel will not attempt to call central station.

  1. If the reporting code for an event is programmed as anything

from [01] to [FE], the panel will send the programmed

reporting code.

Additional Notes on Contact ID

  1. Account numbers must be four digits.

  1. All reporting codes must be two digits.

  2. Substitute the HEX digit 'A' for the '0'.

  1. To prevent the panel from reporting an event, the reporting

code should be programmed as [00].

Please refer to Appendix A: "Reporting Codes"for a list of

Contact ID Identifiers.

Contact ID Uses Programmed/Automatic Codes . . [381]: [7]

Sorry for the wrong info... ;-)

and sorry Mark..

You posted the best reason to switch on auto CID, then it becomes just like SIA and the signal is correct regardless of what you put in a location
