TV Speaker for Center Front Surround

I think I've answered my own question but thought I'd verify:I'd like to use my HDTV speakers as front center speaker for surround sound. I was thinking I could connect my receiver'sspeaker output for the center front speaker to the audioinput of the HDTV. Seems to me the HD Tv's audio inputhas a 1v peak to peak limitation and this would likely harmthe input circuit of the HDTV or possibly blow the channeldriver out of the receiver. That would be a bad idea, right?I'd like so save the expense and space for a separate centerfront speaker. Any other ideas?Thunder

I'm sure your local car audio store can set you up. You run speaker

wire from the center speaker terminals of the receiver to this device,

then run L/R plugs from it to your TV. Some adjusting will be required

but it should work. How it sounds is another story altogether.

Would you clarify this? Wire both inputs of the unit together? Are the inputs the common and signal speaker outputs from the receiver? The volume control is in series with the converter's output or input?

There are such things as speaker to line level adapters. Russound makes one but I can't recall the part number. Using one you could take the speaker outs from the amp and feed them into the TV. I'd probably go with an actual center speaker instead of monkeying around with trying to use what are usually crappy speakers in a TV.
