Professor sells subchannels

A former Seton Hall University professor was arrested yesterday and charged with stealing more than $575,000 from the school's radio station, where he was the general manager and faculty adviser, the Essex County prosecutor said. The professor, Michael A. Collazo, 58, was fired from the university in 2004 after a university audit of the station, the prosecutor, Paula T. Dow, said. Prosecutors claim that Mr. Collazo took money from the station, WSOU-FM ( 89.5), and pocketed funds from unauthorized leases of the station's subfrequencies to local broadcasters. Mr. Collazo was arrested yesterday at his home in Hampton.
