WAN port on Firewall router

We have a situation where our leased line to a new site will not be available in time for its opening. In the meantime the site management company has offered us the use of their network/internet connection. We wish to use a cheap hardware firewall to connect our internal network to theirs and out (via VPN) onto the net and to our main site. My question is, on a firewall such as a Netgear FVS114

), can the port labelled as WAN and described as 'for connection to an ADSL or cable modem' be connected instead to their network? Is the the 'WAN' connection actually a standard Ethernet connection or do modems use a different protocol on their 'inside' face?

Yes, it's a standard ethernet port that can be connected to any standard switch.
