Sonicwall Site to Site VPN

Mar 16, 2006 1 Replies

Hello -

I am looking to setup a site to site VPN. Our main site has a PRO 2040 running SonicOS Enhanced. I am looking for recommendations on which device to purchase for the other end. The Sonicwall for the otherside will only be used for VPN traffic. Also users on the other network will need to access servers in the DMZ at the main site, the DMZ is running in transparent mode. Is this possible using a TZ170 with SonicOS Enhanced? If so, would I need an unrestricted version, or will that not matter because it is only VPN traffic.

Thanks,

Hi btercha, I believe you will find any SonicWALL firewall can act as the other side of this VPN. Is the DMZ on Pro2040 open to the public or just to the VPN tunnel users from TZ170 side? If it's public, you don't have to include it in the VPN configuration between the two networks.

It's much easier to do a sie-to-site VPN with two LAN subnets.
