Sonicwall (safenet) VPN client to Watchguard firewall; can it work?

One of our developers, who accesses numerous customer sites via their Sonicwall firewalls with the Version 8 Safenet-based client on her notebook, now has to access a site using a Watchguard unit. Her system is pretty complex, and we really don't want to install a second VPN client on it. The Watchguard client is also a Safenet build (though apparently newer since Sonicwall now uses a homebuilt client), but the policy files are not directly compatible.

Neither Sonicwall nor Watchguard has useful info about doing this (though Sonicwall does provide info on setting up a Sonicwall-Watchguard box to box tunnel). Unfortunately a box-to-box won't be allowed for this situation due to security policies in place.

Is it possible to get the Sonicwall client to build a tunnel to a Watchguard box? Any info or pointers would be appreciated.

The Sonicwall Global VPN client will only work with Sonicwalls.

The Sonicwall Safenet client will work with any standard VPN box (ie should work with the Watchguard just fine). Have you checked the doc's on Safenets website?

I did, but didn't see anything useful.

The boss decided its not worth the time to pursue; he got another peecee set up with the watchguard client for accessing that one particular customer; cheaper than several hours of research.

Thanks for responding.
