I've been having problems over the past months with random error messages at Win XP SP2 start that note such:
Error PERSFW.EXE
PfVarLibInit: var_server_start error: 1 (10022: socket() failed for udp socket)
And upon "ok" acceptance, a second error:
Erro PERSFW.EXE
FilterLogSyslogInit: Unable to open socket (error: 10022) - logging to syslog will not work
Understanding that it may be a myriad of problems, at this point I'd appreciate any suggestion as to what might be causing this problem. Odd in that it appears at random during boot and opening of Win XP and has been so for about 8 months now. Sought out a couple web notes about this but they really led nowhere. At the limits of my understanding and patience.
