Firewall Tests

Hello,



For a current project i am to test lots of software firewalls e.g. Zone alarm etc, using 2 PC's(one to host the firewall, the other to send test data). Has anyone got any information on how i could test the firewalls. Doing some research i have come across things like SYN flood tests, port scans, throughput / number of connections tests. Am i on the right track. How can i carryout these tests using two PC's. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think you already posted this question before, yes? If you want to test these things, I would install Linux\\FreeBSD on one of the PCs(as you can get many of the really cool on these :-) and use the other as your firewall "test" subject...

There are also many, many sites about this...do a search.
