nslookup -q=MX pingless.com

*** localhost can't find pingless.com: Non-existent host/domain

nslookup -q=MX pingless.com ns2.pingless.com

*** Can't find server name for address 67.131.247.190: No response from server *** Default servers are not available

Therefore I'm posting this question on USENET

Hello,

I've found your USENET article above after searching (quite a while) what's the problem with 1 Gbps => 100 Mbps link transfers -- I have the same problem as you described.

Have you found a solution to your problem ?

My situation:

(1) 1 Gbps (WinXP notebook) -> 1 Gbps (Win2k[03] servers):

200~800 Mbps (OK):

Notebook w/ Broadcom 1 Gbps NIC -> 1 Gbps -> ZyXel GS-2024 1 Gbps switch -> 1 Gbps -> PC servers w/ Broadcom / Intel PRO/1000 1 Gbps NIC

(2) 1 Gbps (WinXP notebook) -> 100 Mbps (WinXP PC):

94 Mbps (OK):

Notebook w/ Broadcom 1 Gbps NIC -> 1 Gbps -> ZyXel GS-2024 1 Gbps switch switch -> 1 Gbps -> 3COM 3300 TM 100 Mbps switch (w/ one 1 Gbps port) -> 100 Mbps -> PC w/ 100 Mbps NIC

(3) 100 Mbps (WinXP notebook) -> 100 Mbps (Linux PC server):

94 Mbps (OK):

Notebook w/ Broadcom 1 Gbps NIC -> 100 Mbps -> 3COM 3300 TM 100 Mbps switch -> 100 Mbps -> PC server w/ 3c905C 100 Mbps NIC (full-duplex link)

(4) 1 Gbps (WinXP notebook) -> 100 Mbps (Linux PC server):

2~4 Mbps only (slow !):

Notebook w/ Broadcom 1 Gbps NIC -> 1 Gbps -> ZyXel GS-2024 1 Gbps switch -> 100 Mbps -> PC server w/ 3c905C 100 Mbps NIC (full-duplex link)

Thank you for your time.
