I have a 2691 router and a PIX 515. I want to change an IP address on a dmz server and know this will cause a routing issue...maybe. I want to move the IP to another server instead. Is there a quick way to clear the reference for that address in the router or PIX to avoid confusion? thanks
The only potential problem is stale ARP cache entries, which can be resolved by clearing the caches on the router and PIX. But this normally shouldn't be necessary -- when the new machine boots up it should send out a gratuitous ARP that resets the caches.
