Active/standby config for ASA 5510

Hello,

I'm planning to deploy an Active /Stand by solution for a small company based on a pair of ASA-5510 Security Plus. The goal is to deploy a firewall and IDS solution, so I also need de AIP-SSM 10 Module for that IDS functions.

The question is: Is it possible to configure only one device with the AIP-SSM 10 card. I consider that IDS functions are not critical, so I would like to configure a Active/Stand by solution for the firewall functions (ie, 2 x ASA 5510) but a standalone config for the IDS (ie, just 1 AIP-SSM). Can this be done?
