Q: How can I determine these Serial interface errors?

Hi, Is it a bad interface (the cable tests OK)? I have tested this interface with other routers and I get similar results. Where can I get some info on the interpretation of the debugs?

Thanks in advance, V

Here's some output when I swapped the cable around. Why did the interface go up/up for a short time and then up/down?

Where the serial1 is connect? Are you set the "clock rate" on interface?

Reply to
Generalxx

It might be a noisy cable Try lowering the clock rate Some cables cant even handle speeds higher than say 125Kbit Try a very low speed at first (64K for example) , then turn up the clock rate until errors start appearing again.

Hi,

I should have been more clear:

1) Pls ignore anything related to Serial 1 in the debugs. I'm only after info on Serial 0. 2) Clock rate is already at 56K 3) Cables are good.

Thanks, V
