Alarming tests from Princeton reveal five of the largest US carriers are not following authentication protocols [telecom]

The five largest US carriers are not protecting customers from SIM-swap attacks, according to a new study.

Researchers at Princeton University contacted AT&T, T-Mobile, Tracfone, US Mobile and Verizon Wireless and found they all used 'insecure authentication challenges that could be easily subverted by attackers'.
