Netgear WGT624 v3 and torrents = crash?

Jan 11, 2007 1 Replies

So I have a WGT624 v3 with the newest firmware installed. Using .11g protocol.

When I use the torrent-protocol I've discovered that my router crashes from what seems to be a buffer overload on the wi-fi or something like that.

I've been forced to go back to ethernet when I want to download files using bittorrent which is quite annoying.

Is this a case of inferior product design that can't handle this kind of traffic (255+ connected nodes) when using wi-fi or is there some settings I should check out?

You are likely overloading the router with too many BT connections. From my experience, 100 connections does very well, almost saturating my download, with upload limited to 80% of rate.
