Depends on where you are in relation to the 60 Degree Coverage if you are on the edge of it you should be able to point a high gain parabolic dish and get signal if you are only 2/3 km from the signal and you are in the 60 degree area you should be getting blasted with signal I use

120 degree sectors and get coverage out 7 1/2 miles from the radio. But this is also using a 200mW radio which is pushing some power to the antenna.

Oh by the way I use a 5.5 Omni Directional on my laptop with this program to measure for signal both strength and noise are measured.
