Adding Linksys WUSB54GC 802.11g to my 1 meter dish

Mar 06, 2006 1 Replies

I travel in a motorhome with an old style Satilite t.v. dish. The best way for me to piggyback into 802.11b/g networks is to use the Linksys WUSB54GC wireless USB device in the focus of my dish. Does anybody have any idea if this will increase my transmitt range as well as my receive range?

Also the USB cable will need to be at least 15 ft. to reach my PC. Am thinking of using a small webcam as to help me point the dish using a standard crosshair rig. Any comments or technical advice welcome.

Thanks in advance! Robert Miller

Increasing the gain of an antenna affects both transmit and receive.

5m is the USB cable limit, if longer use an active cable.

David.
