Re: TV Show - Legacy Phone in Scene

As an aside, in the 1970s they had fully _manual_ (no dial) payphones

When I went to camp in Farmington, Maine ~1968 they had dial-less three slot coin phones where the operator completed all calls. The operators all used dials! No key pulse. An interesting bit was that the SXS office (207-778) was right on the main street and because it was summer the windows were open and you could hear the clatter of the SXS machine going.

Some friends of mine lived for a time in Bowdoinham, Maine (207-666!) and they had dial-less coin phones, but these were the "fortress" type pay phones. They just had a number card in the middle of where a dial or push buttons would normally be.
