AT&T Makes It Harder To Cancel Home Internet & Phone [telecom]

by Luke Bouma
Earlier this month Spectrum made it harder to cancel home
internet. Now AT&T is doing the same as it has started to notify
customers that they are changing their cancellation policy for
internet customers. In the past if you canceled mid-month and did not
have a contract you could get a refund for the rest of the month you
did not use. Now AT&T is no longer offering pro rata (aka prorated)
credits for unused services when you canceled.
This means if you cancel in the first week of your new bill AT&T gets
to keep your full payment even if you only used a few days.
